Removal of Existing Leaking Three Tab Asphalt Roof
The client called us out due to a leak that another Roofing Contractor Repaired Incorrectly. Due to this leak, as-well as lack of Ventilation causing the Attic to Hold Heat & Moisture inside, a Substantial amount of Plywood Decking began to Rot. Once our Crew began removing the Existing Worn Out Shingles the damage became apparent and can be seen in the photos below.
Once we had the roof and rotted plywood stripped to the rafters, we were able to install new plywood, seam tape'd it to code, and install our underlayment to ensure proper installation for the new shingles.

To finish up this job professionally we had to address an issue that a lot of roofing contractors overlook, the Ventilation. Without proper ventilation, attics get extremely hot, which actually Voids Shingle Manufacturer Warranties. This property had Vented Soffits which are good, they allow air to enter the Attic from the outside; however they were clogged so our crew cleared them out. Air could now enter, but needed a way to escape the attic, so we Installed a Vent across the Ridge (Ridge Vent), to ensure air can properly circulate.
