The owner of this Commercial Shopping Plaza in Torrington contacted us due to a few leaks they were experiencing on the property.
It was easy for our inspector to identify a few key issues including
Storm Damage throughout the Roof, Multiple Points of
Failing Flashing, Air Handler Mounting Brackets that were Improperly Fastened to the Roof, along with
Shingle Degradation.
The Owner was presented with multiple solutions for moving forward. Our client went through with an Insurance Claim for the Storm Damage and Ultimately had the whole roof replacement covered.

A Lot of Moving Pieces
Originally, the owner wanted to close off the existing skylights as they were leaking. The tenants had a lot of concerns about the loss of light. We worked with the owner on ordering 8 Custom Acrylic Dome Skylights with UV Tints to save on Heating & Cooling Bills.
Other Quotes the Owner Received wanted to simply roof around the air handler mounts, but We Did Not Think That Was Enough!
To properly install this roof we used a Crane to Detach and Reset the 3 HVAC Air Handlers. By Suspending the HVAC Air Handlers in the Air, we were able to Replace the Rotted Plywood Underneath along with Installing Pressure Treated Wood to Prevent Future Rot from HVAC Moisture.
Being Respectful of the Tenants
It was a priority to the Property Owner not to disrupt the regular flow of business during this construction project. By channeling falling debris and coordinating with tenants we were able to achieve this and complete the Entire Project in Just 2 Days.
